Shift: Days -Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm, Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Shot Blaster to join a busy and well-established engineering and manufacturing company specialising in heavy-duty commercial equipment. This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent working hours, long-term job security and the chance to join a growing business.

The Role

As a Shot Blaster, you will be responsible for preparing fabricated steel components for painting by removing rust, scale and other contaminants to ensure a high-quality finish.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare steel components for painting by removing rust, mill scale and surface contaminants.
Carry out masking, filling and taping where required before painting.
Operate shot blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are achieved.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of blasting equipment.
Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.
Work closely with the production and paint departments to ensure production targets are met.

Background/experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience as a Shot Blaster or in a similar surface preparation role.
Experience operating shot blasting equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
A good understanding of health and safety within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
