Finance Assistant
Location: Rainham, Essex (occasional travel to Watford/Woking)
Salary: £13.50 - £16.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to support the Business Unit Financial Controller within our Building Solutions team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with finance administration or accounting experience looking to develop their career within a busy commercial environment. The successful candidate will support financial reporting, cost control and day-to-day accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet and WIP reconciliations
* Assist with cost reviews, analysis and financial reporting
* Manage sales ledger activities including invoice processing and cash allocation
* Support purchase order and cost entry processes
* Assist with month-end journals and reporting
* Create jobs within finance systems and produce analysis reports
* Work closely with operational and commercial teams to improve financial accuracy
About You:
* Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
* Good understanding of accounting principles and processes
* Experience using finance systems (SAP desirable)
* Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and VLOOKUPs
* Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
* Studying or interested in progressing towards AAT/CIMA would be advantageous
