Logistics Operative - 6 month contract - Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria - £23.46 ph UMB or £17.57 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

The Role

To manage the control of materials, tools and consumables from receipt to despatch / delivery whilst maintaining system applications.

Role Responsibilities:

Not limited to…

The accurate receipt, replenishment, issue, transfer and / or delivery of materials, tools and consumables using relevant Logistics systems and processes (including calibration and maintenance of equipment).
Carry out inventory checks and undertake stock discrepancies activity to reconcile inventory records.
OR
Collation of transport data such as; quantity of pallets collected where required, tachographs as appropriate (for transport specific employees).
Run relevant data reports using systems based applications and communicate as required.
Control and management of reverse logistics.
Adherence to Logistics Process Instructions.
Use of radio and or relevant communication methods as required.
Drive Class 1 vehicles or Transporters to facilitate the movement of items
Support loading and unloading of vehicles in a safe and timely manner and in line with company procedures.
Conduct basic checks prior to using company vehicles or equipment and ensure that defects are recorded and reported promptly.
Ensure compliance with site safety standards (including pedestrian safety).
Support audit activities as required.
Operation of tooling and mechanical handling equipment to support receipt and issue of material as required, in a safe manner complying with company operating procedures at all times.

What are BAE Systems looking for from you?

Relevant knowledge of Logistics systems
Knowledge of Microsoft office (excel, word, access)
Dangerous goods and COSHH awareness
Good communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Management/control of materials experience
Experience of mechanical handling equipment

Security Requirements: SC & UK EYES ONLY

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. If you are unsure as to whether you are eligible, please contact me to discuss.
