Engineering
Immediate Start
£22 - £23 Hourly
Full-Time
We are a market-leading specialist in the manufacture of ultra-precision, high-performance components. We don't work with your run-of-the-mill metals; instead, we engineer complex components from advanced, high-strength technical materials designed to withstand extreme environments. Our products are vital to pioneering industries, including aerospace, medical, semiconductor, and defense.
If you are a skilled CNC Turner who loves a technical challenge and enjoys working to exceptionally tight tolerances, you'll fit right in.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled CNC Turner who can Program, Set, and Operate Mazak CNC Lathes.
Because our materials are highly specialized, this isn't a "button-pushing" high-volume job. You will be working on low-volume, high-value runs, requiring a methodical approach, deep machining knowledge, and a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
*
Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC Lathes using Mazatrol (and/or ISO) controls.
*
Set up tooling, choose correct speeds/feeds, and prove out new programs safely.
*
Manufacture low-volume, high-precision parts down to micron-level tolerances.
*
Interpret technical engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
*
Perform self-inspection on parts using micrometers, verniers, and shadowgraphs to ensure flawless quality.
*
Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize machining processes for challenging, non-standard materials.
What We Are Looking For
*
The Mazak Expert: Strong, hands-on experience programming, setting, and operating Mazak CNC Lathes (Mazatrol controls are essential).
*
Precision-Focused: Proven experience working to extremely tight tolerances (microns matter here).
*
Material Savvy: While experience with our specific high-performance materials is a bonus, a background machining challenging materials (like superalloys, exotics, or hard plastics) is highly desirable.
*
The Problem Solver: Someone who can look at a complex drawing, figure out the best machining strategy, and execute it independently.
What’s in It for You?
*
Clean & Modern Environment: Work in a clean, temperature-controlled, state-of-the-art facility.
*
Competitive Pay: Excellent hourly rate with plenty of overtime potential.
*
Great Benefits: Generous pension scheme, health cash plan, and [Insert Number] days holiday.
*
Stability & Growth: We are growing rapidly, meaning genuine opportunities for long-term career progression and technical training
