The Company
Our client is a respected engineering manufacturer with a reputation for producing high-quality machined components for customers operating in technically demanding sectors. As the business continues to expand, they are looking to strengthen their workshop team by recruiting an experienced Machine Shop Technician.

This position would suit someone who enjoys a varied machining role and is looking to take on more responsibility over time. In addition to producing quality components, you'll be encouraged to contribute ideas that improve manufacturing efficiency, support new ways of working, and help shape the future direction of the workshop.

For the right individual, there are genuine opportunities to progress into a leadership position as the department develops.

The Role
Working within a busy machine shop, you'll be involved in the manufacture of precision components from prototype work through to small production batches. You'll work with a variety of CNC and conventional machine tools while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

Typical duties will include:

* Setting up and operating CNC and manual machine tools.

* Producing precision components from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

* Selecting suitable tooling and work-holding methods for a range of machining operations.

* Manufacturing low-volume and bespoke components to tight tolerances.

* Inspecting finished work using a range of measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.

* Monitoring machine performance and carrying out routine maintenance checks.

* Working alongside engineering and production teams to overcome manufacturing challenges.

* Identifying opportunities to improve machining methods, workflow and productivity.

* Assisting with the introduction of new manufacturing techniques and improved workshop practices.

* Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience working within a CNC machining environment.

Confidence reading and working from engineering drawings.

A solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection and manufacturing processes.

Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

A practical approach to fault finding and continuous improvement.

The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider team.

A proactive attitude with a willingness to develop new skills.

The Package

£27,000- £32,000

Competitive salary based on experience.

Permanent, full-time position with an early finish on Fridays.
