We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a project in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, involving the demolition and replacement of an existing damaged and cracked wall.
The scaffolders and demolition contractor are already appointed, so the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day safe running of the site, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with the programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the safe day-to-day operation of the site.
* Carry out site inductions for all operatives and visitors.
* Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
* Liaise with the client and maintain a professional working relationship throughout the project.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, including the scaffold and demolition teams.
* Conduct site inspections and ensure high standards of housekeeping and compliance.
* Maintain site records and report progress to the project team.
Essential Requirements
* Valid SMSTS certificate.
* Previous experience as a Site Manager on construction projects.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain positive client relationships.
Desirable
* Previous experience working on demolition projects (preferred but not essential).
* Traffic Marshal/Banksman qualification.
* Fire Marshal qualification.
* First Aid at Work certificate.
