£70k - £78k Annual
Full-Time
We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a busy and growing drylining contractor on a permanent basis, working on an industrial/commercial project in Bromley.
This role would suit a Site Manager who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment, managing drylining trades and labour on site. The company operates in a high-output environment, with trades working on pricework, so the successful candidate must be confident driving productivity, keeping works moving and managing site activity without needing to be heavily supervised.
The company is looking for someone who understands drylining, internals and fit-out packages, and who can quickly get to grips with the site, the teams and the pace of work.
Role & Responsibilities
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of drylining works on site, ensuring labour, trades and subcontractors are working safely, efficiently and in line with programme.
Duties will include:
* Managing between 15–50 tradesmen and labourers on site.
* Driving productivity and ensuring works are completed to programme.
* Managing drylining, internal packages and associated trades.
* Coordinating labour, materials, deliveries and site logistics.
* Keeping site works organised and moving at pace.
* Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained on site.
* Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS checks and daily briefings.
* Liaising with the Contracts Manager and wider project team.
* Monitoring progress and reporting back clearly.
* Managing quality standards while keeping production moving.
* Resolving day-to-day site issues quickly and practically.
* Maintaining good communication with trades, labourers and management.
The successful candidate will receive support and guidance from the Contracts Manager for the first 2–3 weeks, after which they will be expected to run the site more independently.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience as a Site Manager within drylining, internals, commercial, industrial or fit-out environments.
* Strong understanding of drylining packages and site sequencing.
* Experience managing busy sites with multiple trades and labourers.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Experience managing gangs working on output / pricework would be highly beneficial.
* Good communication skills and strong spoken English.
* Ability to motivate trades and push production.
* Strong health and safety awareness.
* Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to pick things up quickly and work independently after initial support.
* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid preferred.
About the Environment
This is not a slow-paced, high-end fit-out role. The site will suit someone who is used to a busy, production-led drylining environment, where the focus is on getting work completed quickly, safely and efficiently.
The workforce is driven and output-focused, so the Site Manager needs to be confident, practical and able to keep control of labour, trades and programme on a daily basis.
Package
* Permanent position
* Salary around £78,000 per annum, depending on experience
* Bromley-based project
* Opportunity to join a busy drylining contractor with ongoing work
* Support from Contracts Manager during the initial handover period
* Fast-paced site environment with strong progression potential
