Trust: Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

Band/Pay rate: Band 2 - £12.92 to £23.65 per hour

Shift patterns: 37.5 hours per week - Flexible working across 7 days

* 08:00–18:00

* 08:30–18:30

* 10:00–20:00

* 12:00–20:00

* 20:00–08:00

Make a difference every day at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, one of Europe's largest and busiest children's hospitals. We are recruiting 3 Theatre Porters to join our team and provide vital support to our theatre services.

As a Theatre Porter, you will help ensure the safe movement of patients, equipment, blood products, and specimens, while supporting clinical teams and maintaining a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

* Safely escort patients to and from theatres, wards, and departments.

* Maintain and clean theatre trolleys and equipment.

* Support anaesthetic and recovery teams.

* Transport blood products and clinical specimens safely.

* Support theatre services, decontamination, and materials management teams.

* Maintain a safe, clean environment in line with Trust policies.

What we are looking for:

* A genuine interest in working within a Theatre environment.

* Experience working as part of a multi-professional team (NHS experience desirable).

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues.

* Ability to deliver high standards of care and maintain accurate records.

* Basic IT skills and the ability to complete required documentation.

* A flexible, motivated, and reliable approach with the ability to prioritise workload.

* Commitment to demonstrating Trust values and working positively as part of a team.
