Forever Education is partnered with a lovely Primary School in Ware, Hertfordshire who are looking for a Caretaker to join them. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in August, directly employed by the school. The position is for 25 hours a week, 5 hours a day across Monday to Friday.

About the Role – Caretaker
* Responsible for ensuring the security of school buildings and site.
* Manage and oversee cleaning contractors and responsible for cleaning specific named areas within the school.
* Act as a designated key holder, opening and closing the school every day and providing out of hours and emergency access to the school site.
* Responsible for regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with fire safety regulations) and equipment.
* Responsible for regular maintenance checks and follow-up actions
* Oversee and liaise with contractors whilst onsite and ensure agreed work is undertaken as specified in the contract.
* Liaise with School Office re purchases and supplies (following stock takes) within agreed budget.
* Responsible for the regular checking and operation of systems such as heating, cooling, lighting, fire and security alarms.
* Ensure compliance within the school with all health and safety COSHH regulations, and follow any associated Risk Assessments
* Liaise with other school staff/departments on premises issues.

* Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies.
