About the Role
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our well-established Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive and collaborative safeguarding environment where children and families receive the right help at the right time.
Rate: £30.57 per hour (Umbrella)
As a Senior Social Worker within MASH, you will play a key role in ensuring effective safeguarding arrangements for children and young people by working closely with partner agencies and making timely, informed decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
Screening and reviewing incoming referrals
Applying threshold guidance effectively to ensure appropriate interventions
Making timely decisions within MASH timescales
Contributing to multi-agency safeguarding processes and decision-making
Attending and contributing to strategy discussions
Presenting information clearly and professionally to partner agencies
Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver an effective service
Maintaining high-quality written assessments and recordsSocial Workers within MASH are line managed by a dedicated MASH Team Lead, ensuring strong support and oversight.
Experience
Qualified Social Worker status and Social Work England registration
Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services
Previous MASH experience (essential)
Excellent knowledge and application of safeguarding thresholds
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience of multi-agency working and safeguarding decision-making
Solihull operates a hybrid working model with social workers typically working:
One day in the office
One day from homeDue to the part-time nature of this role, this would generally mean:
One week: 2 days office-based
