KS2 SEN Teacher – Inclusive Primary School
Location: Handsworth, Birmingham (B20)
Salary: £160 - £220 per day
Contract: Full-Time | September 2026 Start
Smile Education is delighted to be supporting a forward-thinking and highly inclusive primary school in Handsworth in their search for an enthusiastic KS2 SEN Teacher.This rewarding opportunity involves leading a small Key Stage 2 class of pupils with a range of additional learning needs including Autism, Speech and Language needs, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos and collaborative staff culture, providing excellent support, specialist interventions and ongoing professional development to ensure both staff and pupils flourish.
Your Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of all pupils.
Work closely with the SENCO and support staff to implement EHCP targets effectively.
Develop pupils' communication, social interaction and emotional resilience alongside academic progress.
Maintain accurate records of attainment, progress and behaviour.
Use positive behaviour management techniques to create a calm and purposeful learning environment.
Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies to support pupils' wider development.The Successful Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working with pupils with SEND in either mainstream or specialist schools.
A strong understanding of adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A proactive, patient and resilient approach.
