The job you’ll do:
* Carry out all work safely, adhering to site rules, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
* Maintain, service, and repair mould tooling and associated components to ensure optimal performance.
* Perform precision machining operations to support production, engineering, and maintenance requirements.
* Monitor the tool change schedule through planning reports and tool change meetings to ensure timely completion of work.
* Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and maintain an effective maintenance schedule.
* Complete maintenance activities in accordance with the planned maintenance programme.
* Maintain appropriate stock levels of tooling spares and consumables to support operational requirements.
* Ensure the tool room and surrounding work areas are maintained to a consistently high standard of housekeeping.
* Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate tooling requirements, repairs, and procurement activities.
* Attend and contribute to meetings representing the Tool Room as required.
* Conduct risk assessments and support audit activities across the factory to promote a safe working environment.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability.
About you:
* Time served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Die Maintenance or similar
* Experience working within plastics or injection moulding manufacturing
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills at all levels
