The job you’ll do:
* Carry out all work safely, in full compliance with site procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and minimise production downtime.
* Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
* Accurately estimate repair times and recognise the operational impact of any delays.
* Record and report the root causes of breakdowns and equipment faults.
* Deliver all maintenance activities to a high standard, ensuring compliance with quality and operational requirements.
* Support the development of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, as well as the installation and relocation of plant and equipment.
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
* Undertake additional engineering duties as assigned by the Shift Manager or Engineering Manager.
* Interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical documentation, and other relevant information effectively.
About you:
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Maintenance or similar (HNC is desirable)
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical information.
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills at all levels
