Design and Assurance Coordinator
Location: London / South East (Hybrid Site & Office Based)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Design and Assurance Coordinator to join a major infrastructure project, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of complex civil engineering works.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Civil or Structural Engineer who enjoys working at the interface between design and construction. You'll be responsible for coordinating technical assurance activities, managing construction-stage design issues, and ensuring engineering solutions are delivered in line with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical assurance process for designated work packages.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, relevant Technical Standards, National Standards, and Eurocodes.
Coordinate design delivery and resolve technical issues with designers, construction teams, and supply chain partners.
Manage engineering change control processes, including:
Technical Queries (TQs)
Specification Departures
Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Field Changes
Support design reviews, assurance submissions, and technical approval processes.
Maintain accurate and robust design, assurance, and compliance documentation.
Communicate technical requirements and design changes clearly to site delivery teams.
Support programme reviews and assist in resolving design-related construction challenges.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions are practical, buildable, and compliant.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Experience working within a contractor-led, technically complex infrastructure environment.
A strong understanding of design assurance and construction-stage engineering delivery.
Experience coordinating multiple designers, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical coordination.
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
Drainage design
Earthworks
Reinforced concrete structures
Utilities design and coordination
Major infrastructure, rail, highways, energy, or civil engineering projects
