Improvement Engineer
Salary: Circa £40,000 (Dependent on Experience) Working Hours: Monday to Friday Days
The Role
We are looking for a proactive Improvement Engineer to drive equipment and process improvements across a highly automated manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong electrical controls and mechanical engineering expertise who enjoys problem solving and delivering measurable operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Improve the performance of automated production equipment and control systems.
Support troubleshooting of PLC, automation and electrical systems.
Modify and optimise machinery to improve uptime, efficiency and output.
Lead equipment improvement and refurbishment projects.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve reliability and enhance safety.
Support preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to deliver sustainable improvements.Requirements
Essential
HNC, Level 4 qualification or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
Experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical, controls and mechanical engineering knowledge.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Desirable
Experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens or Allen Bradley.
Experience with HMI systems, industrial automation and robotics.
Panel wiring/build experience.
PRINCE2, IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.
