Location: Central London or Surrey / Hybrid
An established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join its growing Development Planning team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing projects, working closely with clients and local authorities, and helping developments progress from feasibility and planning through to delivery. It would suit an established Senior Transport Planner looking to progress, or a Principal-level professional seeking a more influential role within a collaborative consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage development-focused transport planning projects.
Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, access studies, and technical reports.
Advise clients through planning and development processes, from initial site promotion to project delivery.
Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and design teams.
Manage project budgets, programmes, and resources.
Support and mentor junior team members.
At Principal level, contribute to client development, fee proposals, and team growth.
Requirements
Strong UK development planning experience.
Experience preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
Knowledge of TRICS, TEMPro, and junction modelling software such as Junctions, LinSig, or similar.
Experience working with developers, consultants, architects, and local authorities.
Strong report-writing, communication, and project management skills.
Commercial awareness and ability to manage client expectations.
A collaborative approach and interest in supporting junior colleagues.Experience across residential, mixed-use, commercial, retail, or regeneration projects is advantageous. Professional membership of CIHT, TPS, CILT, or a similar organisation is desirable.
