Operations Team Manager

Full time – Permanent

Salary - £55,000 - £60,000 plus bonus

Are you an experienced operations leader ready to shape, inspire and develop a high performing team? We’re looking for a Operations Team Manager to lead a busy, skilled technical department and drive excellence across all areas of technical installations service delivery.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will oversee a multi-disciplinary technical function, ensuring the highest standards of service, accuracy and professionalism. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, champion best practice, and play a key part in continuously enhancing processes, systems and technical capabilities across the organisation.
This is an ideal position for a confident people leader from a strong cross functional operations management background, who thrives on coaching large teams, improving consistency, and delivering outstanding results in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop a technical services team, ensuring alignment, collaboration and high performance.
Oversee day to day operations, setting clear standards and ensuring work is completed to exceptional quality.
Coach and mentor team members at all levels, fostering a culture of growth, ownership and accountability.
Drive continuous improvement, reviewing processes and implementing best practice across the department.
Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure technical standards, compliance and methodologies remain up to date.
Support the production of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, drawings and calculations.
Analyse departmental metrics and reporting data to support operational and strategic decision making.
Manage complex technical queries, providing guidance and escalation support where required.
Build positive working relationships with internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and problem resolution.About You
You will be a strong strategic leader with a proven background in technical operations. You bring a calm, diplomatic and solution focused approach, with the ability to balance people leadership, process improvement and technical integrity.

Essential Skills & Experience
Extensive experience leading and developing large technical, engineering field based installation teams.
Ideally having direct line management experience of 10-15 people and teams in excess of 30 people
Strong understanding of technical standards, systems or industry regulations relevant to your background.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to inspire confidence at all levels.
Highly organised with strong prioritisation abilities.
Emotionally intelligent, supportive and able to build trusted relationships.
Proactive mindset with strong problem solving and decision making ability.
