Job Title: Road Export Operator
Location: Leeds
Salary: £27,000 – £38,000 + Benefits (Dependent on experience)
Looking to step up from routine processing and truly manage your own freight operations? A highly respected, well-established freight forwarder in Leeds is seeking an adaptable, driven coordinator to take control of their European and international road export lanes. This role offers genuine autonomy, allowing you to oversee overland shipments from the initial booking stage straight through to final destination delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-End Road Freight Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of European road export trailers, managing groupage, part-load, and full-load (FTL/LTL) movements.
* Carrier & Haulier Liaison: Coordinate daily with domestic and continental transport providers, negotiating rates and securing vehicle capacity.
* Customs Compliance: Produce and manage accurate export documentation, including transit forms (T-forms), CMRs, and customs declarations post-Brexit.
* Account Management: Serve as the direct point of contact for clients, delivering proactive transit updates, resolving route delays, and providing exceptional service.
* Financial Control: Manage job costing, maximize trailer profitability, and ensure accurate, timely invoicing.
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience: Minimum of 2+ years working directly within a UK road freight forwarding or trailer operations environment.
* Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of European road freight networks, driver regulations, and international border procedures.
* Systems: Hands-on experience with freight management software such as CargoWise, MultiFreight, or similar industry platforms.
