Multiple Disadvantage Worker
Location: Haringey (Palmers Green) – refuge and community-based
Contract: Agency, ASAP start
Hours: 18.5 hours per week

We're recruiting for an experienced Multiple Disadvantage Worker to join a frontline service supporting women facing some of the most complex and interlinked challenges — domestic abuse, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, homelessness, and complex trauma. This is a chance to make a real difference to women who are often underserved by mainstream services, working within a trauma-informed, person-centred model that puts safety, stability, and long-term independence at the heart of everything you do.

You'll carry your own caseload, working both within the refuge and out in the community, providing holistic support that adapts to each woman's needs. That means carrying out thorough risk and needs assessments, building tailored support plans, and staying closely engaged as circumstances change. You'll be a consistent, trusted point of contact — helping service users navigate and access the right external support, whether that's housing, health services, substance misuse treatment, or mental health provision — and stepping in proactively wherever risk needs to be identified and managed, including safeguarding concerns.

Advocacy is a big part of this role. You'll be representing service users' voices and needs with partner agencies, making sure they're heard and that services respond appropriately. You'll also be expected to keep clear, accurate case records and contribute to outcome monitoring, helping demonstrate the impact of the support being delivered. Day to day, you'll be working closely with internal colleagues and external professionals, contributing to a genuinely multi-agency, safeguarding-focused way of working.

This is a fast-paced, frontline role that suits someone who's comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and holding a caseload with confidence. You'll need solid experience working with vulnerable women or individuals with multiple, complex needs, a strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact, and working knowledge across areas like mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, or trauma. Confidence carrying out assessments and managing risk is essential, along with strong communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.

This role requires an updated DBS and experience in sheltered accomodation, womens refuges, or similar. Exeprience with substance misuse, homelessness, and similar circumstances are key as well.
