Support Worker – Veterans & Complex Needs
Honiton & Exeter | £15.34 Per Hour| 30 Hours Per Week | Temporary until End of October 2026
Pertemps is currently recruiting for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our client on a temporary basis until the end of October 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting veterans and individuals who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless across the Honiton and Exeter area.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you'll manage a small caseload of around 5–8 customers, allowing you the time to deliver personalised, high-quality support that empowers individuals to achieve greater independence.
The RoleAs a Support Worker, you will:
Provide person-centred, solution-focused support to individuals with complex needs.
Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
Work closely with external agencies, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, benefits services, landlords and education providers.
Support customers to access housing, employment, training and other community services.
Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding best practice.About YouWe're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people and enjoys building positive relationships. You will have:
Experience supporting individuals with a range of complex or vulnerable needs.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make informed decisions.
Experience writing records, support plans or action plans.
A good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.Desirable:
Experience within housing support or homelessness services.
Knowledge of benefits, employment or education support.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
Previous experience working with vulnerable adults.
Safeguarding qualifications.Working Hours
30 hours per week
Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday in every sixAdditional Information

Based from Honiton with travel across Honiton and Exeter
