A charming and welcoming specialist secondary school in Rochdale are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team from September. The Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will support students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom, helping them manage their behaviour, regulate their emotions and access learning successfully.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting students with ASC / ADHD / SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
Building positive, professional relationships that encourage trust and engagement.
Using effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Promoting emotional regulation, resilience and positive routines.
Working cohesively with teachers, pastoral staff and SEN professionals.
Using initiative and confidence when working independently with students.
Helping to maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

Is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
Has an engaging, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills and remains calm under pressure.
Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Is patient, resilient and committed to making a positive impact.
Has experience in behaviour support, SEN, SEMH, youth work or education (desirable).
Holds Team Teach training, or is willing to undertake it (desirable but not essential).This welcoming specialist school offers excellent facilities, strong leadership, ongoing professional development and a cohesive staff culture where every member of the team is valued.
