Are you a practical Engineering Technician looking for your next challenge?
We’re recruiting on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business for an Engineering Technician to join their growing team in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern engineering environment, supporting the testing, development and continuous improvement of innovative electronic products.
This role would suit someone with experience within electronics, manufacturing, product testing or a technical laboratory environment who enjoys hands-on engineering and problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance of testing equipment.
Prepare products and samples for testing.
Perform electrical, thermal and mechanical reliability testing.
Inspect products using microscopes to identify faults and defects.
Build and maintain test boards and fixtures.
Edit and maintain automated test programmes.
Record and analyse test results using Excel and engineering documentation systems.
Maintain accurate records and traceability of test samples.
Support engineering teams with product development and continuous improvement.
Ensure high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety are maintained.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
Previous experience within an engineering, electronics or manufacturing environment.
Experience of product testing or laboratory testing would be beneficial.
Soldering experience or the ability to build test fixtures.
Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent attention to detail and strong practical skills.
Good communication and organisational skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
