Are you a hands-on Engineering Technician with a keen eye for detail and a passion for testing and product development? We're recruiting for an Engineering Technician to join a growing engineering team, supporting the development and reliability testing of innovative electronic products.
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in preparing, testing, and analysing new and existing products to ensure they meet the highest quality and reliability standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a technical environment, has strong practical skills, and thrives on solving engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure reliable test operation.
Prepare product samples for testing, including marking, board mounting, and preconditioning.
Perform electrical, thermal, and mechanical reliability testing on products within specified timeframes.
Conduct detailed visual inspections using microscopes to identify defects and product issues.
Design, build, and maintain test boards and fixtures used for product testing.
Edit and maintain test programmes for automated test equipment.
Record, analyse, and maintain test results using Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation systems.
Manage wafer sample storage, ensuring accurate logging and traceability of materials.
Support product development activities by providing accurate test data and technical feedback.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality, and health & safety within the laboratory and testing areas.
Work closely with engineering teams to support ongoing product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English, and a Science subject, are preferred.
Previous experience in an engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or cleanroom environment is desirable.
Experience preparing test samples or carrying out product testing would be advantageous.
Familiarity with soldering techniques and building test fixtures.
Good understanding of health & safety procedures and the importance of PPE compliance.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently as well as part of a team.
Positive, proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
Flexible approach to supporting testing activities when required.
