The role will take ownership of a busy technical facility delivering complex testing programmes and validated results for internal and external projects. If you thrive in structured operations and enjoy the variety of project‑based work, this role will suit you perfectly.
The Role
Lead day‑to‑day operations across a multi‑project engineering/mechanical testing environment, ensuring work is planned, resourced and delivered effectively. Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and coordinating testing programmes and project delivery
* Managing people, equipment, facilities and operational resources
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance
* Creating structured plans to meet testing requirements and deadlines
* Overseeing capability, capacity, scheduling and future operational needs
* Leading proposals for how work should be delivered and owning implementation
* Acting as a key holder and supporting site opening/closing responsibilities
The Requirements
* Strong operational management experience within engineering, production or technical environments
* Proven leadership and team‑development capability
* Excellent planning, organisation and resource‑management skills
* Ideally a Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G, HNC or Degree)
