Product Support Engineer / 1st Line Technical Support

Monday to Friday | £30,000 – £35,000 + Full Training & Development

We are recruiting a Product Support Engineer / 1st Line Technical Support Engineer who will become a key technical contact for customers, providing practical support, troubleshooting advice and product guidance across a specialist engineering portfolio.

**This is not an IT support role**.

We are looking for someone with an engineering mindset - someone who understands electrical, mechanical or automation principles and enjoys diagnosing problems, helping customers and developing specialist product knowledge.

The Opportunity as a Product Support Engineer, you will provide first-line technical support to customers, installers and engineers across the UK.

You will act as the first point of contact for technical enquiries, helping with:

Product selection and application advice
Spare parts identification
Installation guidance
Programming support
Fault finding and troubleshooting
Technical queries from customers and engineersYou will work closely with the Technical Manager and wider engineering team, developing your knowledge of the product range and becoming a trusted source of technical expertise.

This is a fully office-based Monday–Friday role, giving you the opportunity to move away from field-based work, travel and unpredictable call-outs while remaining close to engineering problem solving.

Provide first-line technical support to customers and installers
Handle incoming technical enquiries via telephone and email
Diagnose faults and provide troubleshooting support
Assist customers with installation and programming queries
Identify spare parts and replacement components
Escalate complex technical issues when required
Maintain accurate records of customer queries
Work closely with engineering and technical teams
Build strong product knowledge through training and development
Deliver excellent customer service and technical guidanceAbout You You will ideally have:

Practical experience within an electrical, electronic, mechanical or engineering environment
Understanding of basic electrical and/or mechanical principles
Experience with fault finding or technical problem solving
Strong communication skills
Confidence speaking with customers and engineers
A willingness to learn specialist products and systems
A professional approach with good attention to detailThe Package:
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Monday to Friday (office based)
