Our client is a market-leading engineering and manufacturing business operating within the aerospace sector. They design, manufacture and support specialist engine and propulsion products supplied to customers globally.

Due to continued growth and ongoing investment, they are seeking an experienced Product Support Engineer to join their engineering team in a senior, technically focused position. The company offers an excellent benefits package including private healthcare, pension and additional employee benefits.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on engineering role, acting as a key technical focal point between engineering, production, customers and suppliers.

You will be responsible for supporting products throughout their lifecycle, investigating faults and failures, carrying out root cause analysis, supporting overhaul and servicing activities, managing engineering changes and helping to drive product reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, working closely with customers and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Investigating product faults, failures and returned equipment (RMA activities)
Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
Producing technical reports and engineering documentation
Supporting overhaul, servicing and repair activities
Managing engineering changes and product modifications
Supporting obsolescence management activities
Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments on technical matters
Creating and updating engineering drawings using 3D CAD software
Providing technical support to production and operations teams
Supporting continuous improvement and product reliability activities
What We're Looking For

Apprentice-trained, HNC/HND qualified, degree qualified or equivalent engineering background
Experience supporting mechanical products within a manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, powertrain, machinery or similar engineering environment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis of product failures
Experience liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders on technical matters
Ability to produce clear technical reports and engineering documentation
Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, to create and modify engineering drawings and models
Understanding of engineering change control and obsolescence management
Hands-on mechanical aptitude with a practical approach to engineering challenges
Knowledge of internal combustion engines, propulsion systems, rotating machinery or similar products would be advantageous
The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful engineering business in a senior technical role where you will play a key part in supporting and improving complex mechanical products used in demanding applications worldwide.

In return, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, long-term career stability, early finish Fridays and the opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering environment where your technical expertise will have a direct impact on product performance and customer satisfaction.

Your CV will be forwarded to Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy established in 1978. The services advertised by Jonathan Lee Recruitment are those of an Employment Agency.
