International Trade Compliance Officer
Location: Marlow
Salary: £40-45k DOE
The Opportunity
Are you looking to build or further develop your career within International Trade Compliance in a highly regulated defence and aerospace environment?
We're recruiting for an ITC Officer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business. This role will support the ITC Manager and wider business in ensuring compliance with UK and US export control regulations, whilst providing guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting critical import and export activities.
The Role
As an ITC Officer, you will support the day-to-day management of international trade compliance activities across the business, ensuring exports are processed efficiently and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining export classifications within the ERP system
Updating export control information on sales orders, including licence selection and order clearance
Screening customers and suppliers against relevant compliance requirements
Managing documentation relating to imports and exports to ensure audit readiness
Liaising with Chambers of Commerce regarding Carnets and Certificates of Origin
Supporting compliance with UK Export Control regulations
Supporting adherence to US ITAR, EAR and Dual-Use regulations
Assisting with ECJU, HMRC and other compliance audits and visits
Providing guidance to engineering, procurement, commercial and project teams on export control requirementsThe successful International Trade Compliance Manager will ideally have the below experience:
Essential:
Understanding of UK import and export compliance requirements
Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR and export control regulations
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesDesirable:
Experience working within a Trade Compliance, Export Control or Regulatory Compliance function
Experience supporting government or regulatory audits
Commercial awareness and understanding of working within a business-focused environment
Familiarity with ERP systems and export licence management processesWhat's in it for You?
