We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Engineer – Structures to join a leading aviation organisation supporting military and commercial aircraft maintenance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aircraft structures engineer to work within a Part-145 and Part-21 environment, carrying out structural repairs, component manufacture and aircraft maintenance to the highest industry standards.
The Role
Working within a dedicated workshop team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and manufacture of aircraft structural components, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*
Assemble aircraft structural components from engineering drawings and specifications.
*
Carry out sheet metal repairs using solid and blind riveting, bolting and detail fitting techniques.
*
Manufacture metal detail components including bending and forming.
*
Repair and maintain aircraft mechanical and structural components.
*
Interpret engineering drawings and maintenance documentation.
*
Complete all maintenance documentation accurately.
*
Ensure compliance with Part-145, Part-21 and company procedures.
*
Use calibrated tooling and precision measuring equipment.
*
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and tool control.
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
*
Work closely with engineering and production teams to deliver customer requirements.
About You
You'll have previous experience within an aircraft maintenance or aviation manufacturing environment and be confident working to high engineering standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
*
Previous experience within an aircraft maintenance workshop or aerospace manufacturing environment.
*
Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and structural repair techniques.
*
Experience with sheet metal fabrication, riveting, bending and detail fitting.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
*
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
*
Strong understanding of aviation quality and safety standards.
*
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
*
Security clearance eligibility required.
Qualifications
*
Engineering Apprenticeship or HM Forces equivalent.
*
Mechanical Engineering qualification (BTEC Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
*
Previous experience within a Part-145 or Part-21 environment is highly desirable.
