About the Role
My client is leading fabrication engineering business based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Reporting to the Production Manager, my client seeks a Quality Control Inspector to work as a key part of the Inspection Team, with overall responsibility for ensuring product quality conformity to customer and legislative standards.
Main Responsibilities
* Inspection of fabricated & welded components - Dimensionally, Visual & NDT to ensure the correct quality
* Liaise with engineering team to clarify inspection and testing requirements
* Liaise with goods inward for the inspection of raw materials, components and associated certification
* Support the production team with in-process inspection and testing of components for manufacture
* Maintain product traceability and compliance to required standards
* Quarantine and identify non-conforming parts to ensure all product non-conformances are accurately reported
* Support problem-solving activities and investigations where product or process non-conformance has been identified
* Contribute to quality led improvement initiatives and support quality performance
About You
To be considered for the role, it is essential that you possess CSWIP3.1 and PCN Level 2 MPI certification. You will be an experienced Quality Inspector, with experience gained in a fabrication & welding based engineering environment.
Other Selection Criteria
* Relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
* PCN Level 2 Dye Pen (desired)
* Competent with manual inspection processes using equipment such as tapes, rules, and squares
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality at all times
* Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work
* Visible Quality Control values
* Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required to support business needs
* Drive for improvement - Actively participate in continuous improvement discussions & willing to share best practice
