GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join schools across Newcastle Upon Tyne from September 2026. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, working collaboratively with teaching staff, and making a meaningful impact on pupils' educational journeys.
We are looking for individuals who are patient, caring, and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide high-quality support to pupils of all abilities.
About the Role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your role will be instrumental in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
This is a part-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, and applicants must be available to work 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group intervention support
Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and learning resources
Support pupils with a range of learning abilities, including those with additional needs
Encourage confidence, independence, and active participation in learning
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom culture
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times
What We're Looking For
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent – Essential
Experience supporting children within a school or educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
Ability to motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their best
Excellent teamwork and organisational skills
Professional, reliable, and committed attitude
Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Available to work 5 days per week
