Control Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:
The Control Systems Engineer will join a hugely successful engineering team and work on the development of next generation machine tooling equipment. With an exciting new control system design project on the horizon, the Control Engineer will play a key role in its development and implementation, collaborating closely with OEMs to ensure functionality, regulatory compliance, and market readiness across the UK and EU.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical control systems for machine tools, including the creation of electrical drawings, technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
Lead system optimisation activities, including control system tuning and performance enhancement.
Testing and Validation.
Lead projects involving new machine installations, control system developments, upgrades, and the integration of optional machine features.
Provide technical expertise to Quality, Production, and Service teams in diagnosing and resolving electrical and control system issues.
Preferred Skills:
HNC, HND, or Degree qualification in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
Competent in the use of electrical test and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and similar tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and OEM partners.
Experience producing clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
Experience working with CNC machine tools or industrial automation systems.
Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory requirements relating to machinery and control systems.Benefits and Hours of Work:
Hours of Work: 07:45 - 17:00 Mon to Thurs, 08:30 - 12:30 Fridays (39 hours)
