Aureos are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work in growing team in Penrith.
Working within Aureos Highways Business Unit, and forming a part of the Commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.
Primary tasks and duties
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:
* Input into the application and credit control processes
* Understanding of income forecast and pricing of scope changes
* Understanding of the change control system
* Understanding of project risk
* Understanding of the production of CVRs
* Understanding of CTC
* Understanding the production of forecasting data
* Understanding the costing process
* Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
Secondary tasks and duties
We operate a team ethos across the Aureos Business Unit and strive to assist colleagues in the execution of their duties where this is appropriate and brings added value. The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the following in this respect:
* Ensure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
* Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s
* Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement
* Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base
Qualifications and Training
Essential:
* Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
* Working towards Professional Qualification (preferred)
* Suitable post degree experience working in contracting commercial department preferably within the power industry
* Knowledge of and ability to interpret construction industry conditions of contract, mainly NEC3 and NEC4
* Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel)
Desirable:
* Driving license
