Building Engineer - Worksop | £28,500 - £31,500 + weekend allowance + long-term stability

We're recruiting for a Building Engineer to join a well-established facilities team at HMP Ranby, working within a secure prison environment. This role offers a stable, long-term opportunity with structured working hours, additional weekend allowance and excellent development opportunities.
This Building Engineer role is ideal for someone with a multi-skilled maintenance background who enjoys a varied, hands-on position covering planned and reactive maintenance, compliance checks and building systems.

As a Building Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient site operations through:
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
Completing statutory compliance checks and inspections
Maintaining fire safety equipment including extinguishers, hydrants and hoses
Testing emergency lighting, RCDs and smoke vents
Inspecting and maintaining fire doors
Completing water temperature testing and flushing in line with risk assessments
Supporting maintenance of security systems including CCTV and alarms
Recording completed works and remedial tasks using CAFM systems
Carrying out general building maintenance tasks as requiredWhat we're looking for:
To be successful in this Building Engineer role, you should have:
Experience working in a multi-skilled maintenance or facilities environment
Knowledge of fire safety systems, emergency lighting or compliance testing
Experience with general building maintenance tasks
Understanding of water hygiene checks and temperature testing (desirable)
Experience working with maintenance management systems (CAFM)
Good IT skills and the ability to complete accurate records
