Full-Time
We're recruiting a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Cumbria. This is a hands-on, site-based role with real scope to make an impact — joining a team that takes its safety culture seriously and wants someone to help drive it forward.
If you're NEBOSH-qualified, confident working in a manufacturing environment, and ready to take ownership of a broad H&S remit, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
* Developing, implementing, and reviewing health and safety policies and procedures across the site
* Conducting risk assessments and method statements for operational activities
* Carrying out regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and driving corrective actions
* Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents — and producing clear reports with recommendations
* Delivering health and safety inductions and training for new starters and existing employees
* Maintaining accurate H&S records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
* Liaising with external bodies including the HSE where required
* Supporting management in embedding a positive safety culture across all departments

* Confident communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels — from the shop floor to senior management
* Organised and thorough, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* IOSH membership desirable but not essential
