This is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience working with children who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As a Psychology Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, supporting both their academic progress and emotional wellbeing. You will collaborate with experienced teachers and specialist staff while developing practical skills in behaviour management, communication strategies, and child development.

This role is ideal for graduates considering further study or careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Teaching.

Key Responsibilities - Psychology Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and the wider school team.What We're Looking For

A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic school environment in Gloucester
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.Role Details
