Contract Manager (M&E Compliance) job available with a leading property services contractor, delivering statutory compliance across Mechanical & Electrical operations within the social housing sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of long-term Housing Association and Local Authority contracts.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager (M&E Compliance) to take ownership of statutory compliance across Mechanical & Electrical services, ensuring the business remains fully compliant with current legislation, industry standards and accreditation requirements.
Working closely with operational teams, clients and regulatory bodies, you will provide technical leadership across gas, electrical, oil, solid fuel and microgeneration services while driving continuous improvement, maintaining company accreditations, and supporting operational excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead statutory compliance across all M&E disciplines, ensuring adherence to legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice
Manage company accreditations including Gas Safe, NICEIC, OFTEC, HETAS and MCS
Develop, implement and review compliance policies, procedures and technical guidance
Carry out compliance audits, inspections and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Provide technical advice and compliance support to operational teams, managers and clients
Monitor engineer competence, ensuring work is allocated only to appropriately qualified personnel
Produce compliance reports, analyse operational data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
Develop and deliver technical training, toolbox talks and compliance communications across the business
Build strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
Promote a positive health & safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the M&E division
Requirements
Proven experience managing statutory compliance across Mechanical & Electrical services
Extensive knowledge of gas, electrical, oil, solid fuel and microgeneration compliance
Experience managing Gas Safe, NICEIC, OFTEC, HETAS and MCS accreditations
Strong understanding of industry legislation, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks
Experience carrying out compliance audits, inspections and regulatory investigations
Previous experience within social housing, property maintenance or M&E services
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
Excellent analytical skills with experience interpreting compliance and operational data
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly organised with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
Relevant technical qualification (minimum EngTech or equivalent)
Professional membership within a recognised engineering body
Full UK Driving Licence
