SEN Unit Teacher – September 2026 Start | Stockton-on-Tees | £140–£200 per day
Smile Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Unit Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Stockton-on-Tees from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to teach within a specialist SEN Unit supporting primary-aged pupils with complex Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning needs. You will join a highly supportive team of experienced teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders committed to providing outstanding inclusive education.
The role
Full-time position
Fixed-term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027
Based in Stockton-on-Tees
Daily rate of £140–£200, depending on experience
September 2026 startAbout youWe are looking for a teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has recent UK teaching experience
Has experience working with children with complex SEND or a genuine passion for inclusive education
Understands the SEND Code of Practice and the role of specialist provision
Demonstrates patience, resilience and compassion
Has high expectations for every child and is committed to helping them achieve their full potential
Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for oneApplications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers with an interest in SEND.
