Mechanical Contracts Manager

An exciting opportunity to join a successful M&E business in Peterborough in a Senior role with career-growth opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to take ownership of multiple installation and maintenance projects from pre-contract stage through to final account.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong commercial awareness, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage mechanical installation and maintenance projects from inception to completion
Undertake site surveys, contract reviews, estimating, and quotation preparation
Coordinate project delivery, resources, subcontractors, and site teams
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, RAMS, and CDM requirements
Control project costs, variations, and commercial performance
Attend client meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Produce accurate project reporting and contribute to resource planning
About You
Essential:
Proven experience in mechanical contracting and project management
Strong commercial and cost-control awareness
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
A proactive approach to project delivery and client satisfaction
Desirable:
Engineering qualification
SMSTS and/or IOSH certification
