Quality Engineer
We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for our reputable client (permanent position)
Location: Melksham, Wiltshire
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
Bonus: Up to 10%
Pension: Matched up to 7.5%
About our Client hiring a Quality Engineer:
An established engineering and manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement. They are now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support production, process control, new product introduction and supplier quality across a technically demanding product range.
Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer:
* Lead quality activities across production
* Review processes, controls and documentation, driving corrective actions and improvements
* Maintain SOPs, Control Plans and other quality documents
* Carry out patrol, final and document audits
* Support NPI, APQP, PFMEA and validation activities
* Support design reviews, change control, fault finding and failure analysis
* Carry out incoming inspection and support supplier quality activities
* Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement work
* Support testing, SPC, process capability analysis and data-driven improvements
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and control of quality records and certification documents
* Provide technical quality support across Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain
Requirements for the Quality Engineer role:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related technical role
* Strong understanding of the role within a manufacturing environment
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
* Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
* Experience with process control tools, data analysis and statistical methods
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system requirements
Desirable experience for the Quality Engineer role:
* Experience in electronics manufacturing
* Knowledge of IPC standards
* Lead Auditor certification
* Experience with supplier quality and incoming inspection
* Knowledge of PFMEA, DFMEA, APQP and PPAP
* Understanding of RoHS, REACH, traceability and product compliance requirements
* Experience with Excel, Power BI, Power Automate or Visio
* Six Sigma, SPC or Green Belt training
* Experience with functional, environmental or reliability testing
* Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement tools
What is Offered for the Quality Engineer role:
