Central Recruitment is working with a London-based support service for women who are affected by or at risk of sexual exploitation.
Our client is currently recruiting for a female only Advocacy & Support Worker to work at a drop-in service in the Kings Cross area. The service provides support to women experiencing multiple disadvantages including sexual exploitation, homelessness, domestic abuse, substance use and complex trauma.
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday - Friday
* Shifts: 09:00 – 17:00, there is some flexibility with start and finish times
* Temporary: approx. 4 months
* £18.36 per hour (£16.03 per hour, with £2.33 holiday pay)

Please note: This is a female-only role. Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010).
Key responsibilities:
* Undertake assessments, support planning, and regular reviews with women accessing the service
* Provide practical and emotional support using a trauma-informed and non-judgmental approach
* Support women to access services including housing, health, benefits, safeguarding, and specialist support
* Advocate on behalf of women with external agencies and professionals
* Accompany women to appointments where appropriate
* Respond appropriately to crisis presentations, safeguarding concerns, and risk
* Welcome and assess new and returning women accessing the drop-in
* Support women with immediate practical needs including food, showers, laundry, and crisis support
* Support reception, phone enquiries and referrals
* Assess and manage risk within the drop-in environment
* Respond to incidents, emergency situations, and alarms appropriately
* Work collaboratively with volunteers and colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive environment
* Work within confidentiality, GDPR, safeguarding, and organisational procedures
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting vulnerable and socially excluded women experiencing multiple disadvantage
* Experience of support planning, advocacy, and risk management
* Experience responding to crisis situations, safeguarding concerns and working within trauma-informed approaches
* Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies
* Ability to build professional and boundaried relationships
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
* Understanding of trauma, safeguarding, homelessness, sexual exploitation, substance use, and violence against women and girls
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
