Role: CNC Sliding Head Machinist
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £38,000 depending on experience
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join its skilled machining team.
The company manufactures high precision machined components for a wide range of demanding industries including aerospace, defence, medical, motorsport, oil & gas, telecommunications and renewables. Working in a modern, quality driven manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in producing complex, high tolerance components using sliding head technology.
Responsibilities:
Programme, set and operate CNC Sliding Head machines.
Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and exact customer specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Select tooling, optimise programmes and improve machining efficiency.
Carry out first-off inspections and support ongoing quality requirements.
Work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality throughout the machine shop.
Skills and experience:
Proven experience programming, setting and operating Star Sliding Head CNC machines.
Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining principles.
Experience producing precision components within a manufacturing environment.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
