Shift Leader

We are recruiting for a Shift Lead to join our client based in Hammersmith, working within a modern commercial property as part of an experienced M&E maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias looking to develop their career, receive ongoing training, and work within a prestigious commercial environment.
As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical building services. You will also oversee the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, allocate workloads, maintain site documentation, and ensure a high standard of service is delivered to the client.
This is a continental shift position, covering both day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.
Maintain and fault-find on a variety of building services equipment, including:
Single and three-phase power systems
Motors and generators (including on/off load testing)
UPS systems
LV/HV switching and shutdown procedures
Switchgear
Emergency lighting
Fire alarm testing
AHUs, FCUs, VAVs and CRAC units
Sprinkler systems
Pumps, belts, bearings and seals
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Safely isolate plant and equipment in accordance with site procedures.
Ensure all repair works are completed in line with current regulations and industry standards.
Promote safe working practices and high-quality workmanship.
Coordinate and supervise specialist subcontractors.
Complete logbooks, RAMS and maintenance reports.
Attend client meetings and provide regular updates to the Account Manager.
Liaise with client representatives regarding planned and corrective maintenance.
Issue and manage Permit to Work documentation.
Raise and close work orders using PDA devices or CAFM systems. Requirements
Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Installations or Mechanical Engineering/Building Services (City & Guilds, NVQ, EAL or equivalent).
Mechanical or electrical bias with proven experience within commercial building services maintenance.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems.
Previous experience leading a team or acting in a supervisory capacity is advantageous.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Motivated, reliable and career-focused.
