Production Team Leader - Manufacturing
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire (NN11)
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
We are recruiting for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing environment, leading a small production team to deliver against quality, safety, and output targets. You will play a key role in day-to-day production leadership while also supporting continuous improvement, team development, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and support a production team, setting clear daily targets and expectations
Run daily team briefings and communicate production plans
Support training, development, cross-skilling, and performance management
Assist with appraisals and personal development plans
Lead by example and promote a high-performance culture
Allocate work in line with production schedules and priorities
Ensure efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment to meet output targets
Monitor production progress, downtime, and performance against KPIs
Ensure accurate completion of work orders and stock transactions
Provide hands-on support where required
Act as first line of quality control (first-off / last-off checks)
Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards
Investigate non-conformance and support root cause analysis
Escalate and resolve production/quality issues effectively
Promote a strong H&S culture and enforce PPE compliance
Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
Encourage near-miss reporting and safe working practices
Cover other Team Leaders when required
Report on KPIs, attendance, and performance data
Ensure compliance with company procedures and conduct standards

Confident, hands-on leader with a proactive approach
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to motivate and develop a team
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
Resilient, adaptable, and open to change
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience Required
Previous experience leading or supervising a production or manufacturing team
Experience driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards (ISO9001 / ISO14001 or similar)
Familiar with production environments and KPIs (waste, downtime, scrap, rework)
Competent using MS Office and ERP systems
