Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Days)
Location: Dukinfield Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Days Only) Salary: £43,500 per annum + Excellent Benefits
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. This is a permanent days-based role, offering an excellent work-life balance alongside a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
Maintain and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and process equipment.
Install and modify pipework and associated mechanical systems.
Perform maintenance on site services including boilers, compressors and cooling towers.
Complete daily maintenance records and ensure all documentation is accurate.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and performance.
Work safely in line with company health and safety procedures. Skills & Experience
Essential
Time-served Mechanical Engineer (Apprenticeship or equivalent).
Previous experience within an FMCG, chemical, process manufacturing or blending environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with:
Pneumatic systems
Pumps
Pipework installation and repair
Motors and gearboxes
Process equipment
Mechanical workshop machinery and techniques
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems
Site utilities including boilers, compressors and cooling towers
Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills. Benefits
