MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Location: Trafford Park, Greater Manchester
Salary: £49,185 – £57,056 (DOE, including 15% Shift Allowance)
Shift: 4 on / 4 off Days (07:00 – 19:00)
Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established industrial processing business operating within the recycling and resource recovery sector. This is a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment offering excellent long-term career prospects, technical challenges, and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of processing equipment.
Working as part of a growing maintenance team, you will be paired with another Mechanical Engineer and report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The role involves carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a large fleet of industrial machinery to ensure maximum plant availability and reliability.
The site operates 24/7 and houses approximately 150 machines including conveyors, shredders, separators, fans, granulators and associated processing equipment.
Sector – Heavy Industrial / Recycling
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial environment
Experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance
Mechanical engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
Strong fault-finding and repair skills
Desirable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Previous experience within recycling or materials processing facilities
Experience working on conveyors, shredders, separators or granulators
UK industrial maintenance experience
Forces / ex-military engineering background welcomed
