Health & Safety Coordinator

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Part-Time 25–30 Hours per Week (School Hours Considered)
Salary: £26,000 – £38,000 (Pro Rata, Dependent on Experience and Hours)

This role is ideal for a motivated Health & Safety professional who enjoys working collaboratively across operational teams to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site management and employees to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities of this Health & Safety Coordinator role:

Present Health & Safety performance updates and monitoring reports at daily operational review meetings, supporting mitigation planning where required.
Conduct both static and dynamic risk assessments in partnership with operational and functional teams.
Carry out regular site inspections, behavioural safety observations, GEMBA walks, hazard identification activities, and unsafe act reporting.
Produce, analyse, and report on Health & Safety KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
Share lessons learned from incidents and best practices across the wider business.
Act as a key point of contact for managers, employee representatives, and colleagues on Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
Coordinate and administer Health & Safety training programmes, including eLearning activities.
Support relationships with regulatory authorities, customers, and other relevant stakeholders as required.
Assist in the delivery of regional and corporate Health & Safety improvement plans and KPI reporting requirements.
Host and support internal and external compliance audits, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Deliver and support in-house Health & Safety training initiatives across the site.To be successful in this Health & Safety Coordinator role, you will have:

IOSH Managing Safely qualification or higher.
Previous experience in a Health & Safety coordination, advisory, or compliance-focused role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
Experience analysing data and producing reports to support operational decision-making.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
HACCP Level 2 qualification.
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
ILM Level 3 Managing People qualification.
Experience working within a fast-paced operational, logistics, manufacturing, or production environment.Additional Employee Benefits
