Service Engineer
Location: Workshop – Ipswich / Field-based (UK & International Travel Required)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working with a well-established engineering business seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys travelling, solving technical challenges, and working directly with customers.
You'll be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial equipment across customer sites throughout the UK and overseas, ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installing, commissioning and configuring industrial equipment at customer sites
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
* Responding to breakdowns and providing fast, effective solutions
* Delivering exceptional customer service and technical support
* Completing accurate service reports and maintenance documentation
* Building strong relationships with customers and acting as a professional company representative
Candidates Requirements:
* Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial machinery
* Excellent mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
* Hold an HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Desirable)
* Strong problem-solving ability
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your workload
* Full UK driving licence
* Valid passport and willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally
* Flexibility to stay away overnight when required
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
