Location: Devizes, covering sites across the South West
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Call-Out: 1 weekend in 6
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join its established engineering team, covering a varied portfolio of commercial sites throughout the South West.
This is a permanent mobile position focused on the service, maintenance, breakdown and repair of commercial gas-fired heating systems, boilers and associated mechanical plant.
The successful engineer will work independently across multiple customer sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance while ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with current gas regulations.

Key Responsibilities
As a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer, your duties will include:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial gas boilers and heating systems
Attending reactive breakdowns and diagnosing faults efficiently
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across commercial properties
Completing remedial repairs to gas appliances, heating systems and hot-water plant
Working on commercial boilers, burners, pumps, valves, controls and associated mechanical equipment
Undertaking minor commercial heating and HVAC installation works
Fault-finding on heating, hot-water and cold-water systems
Responding to emergency gas leaks and making systems and sites safe
Carrying out gas-safety checks, testing and commissioning where required
Completing service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation accurately
Updating jobs and recording completed works through a company PDA
Liaising professionally with clients, site teams and facilities managers
Working in accordance with Gas Safe, health and safety and company procedures
Participating in a 1-in-6 weekend call-out rota
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold current commercial gas qualifications, ideally including:
COCN1
CODNCO1
ICPN1
CIGA1
CDGA1
CORT1
TPCP1A
Domestic gas qualifications including CCN1 and CENWAT would also be beneficial, as some domestic-type appliances may be included within the portfolio.
Candidates should also have:
Previous commercial gas service and breakdown experience
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working on a range of commercial boilers and heating systems
Knowledge of pumps, burners, controls and associated mechanical plant
A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant mechanical, plumbing or heating discipline, or equivalent industry experience
A full UK driving licence
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload
A reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
Recognised health and safety training
OFTEC qualifications such as OFT10-101, OFT10-105E or OFT10-600a would be advantageous but are not essential.
The successful candidate may also be required to complete a DBS or police background check for access to sensitive or secure sites.
