Morva Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing engineering and manufacturing business in the search for a Goods Inwards Inspector to be based in Indian Queens, just off the A30.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a structured, hands-on environment where attention to detail really matters. You'll play a key role in ensuring materials are received, inspected and stored accurately, helping to keep production running efficiently and maintaining the highest quality standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Materials Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient receipt of incoming materials, completing goods inwards inspections, accurately recording stock within the ERP system and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
Working closely with Stores, Production and Engineering teams, you'll help maintain stock accuracy and material availability while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities
*
Safely unload deliveries using forklift trucks in line with company procedures.
*
Check delivery documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
*
Carry out goods inwards inspections to ensure materials meet quality and specification requirements.
*
Identify and report damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials.
*
Accurately receipt all incoming goods onto the ERP system.
*
Store materials correctly, maintaining clear labelling and traceability.
*
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the stores and goods inwards areas.
*
Support stock accuracy through correct inventory transactions.
*
Assist with warehouse picking activities to support production.
*
Provide support to the dispatch team during busy periods, including packing and loading finished goods.
*
Carry out inter-site collections and deliveries between company locations across Cornwall when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in doing things properly.
You'll ideally have:
*
Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, goods inwards or manufacturing environment.
*
A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
*
The ability to work independently and manage your workload.
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
A flexible attitude with a willingness to support different areas of the business.
*
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
*
A willingness to undertake training where required.
Forklift experience and knowledge of ERP or stock management systems would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
