The Successful Candidate Will Have
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years' experience working within children's residential care
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step into registration
Experience supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and manage a high-performing team
Experience managing budgets, staffing and service performance
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Child-centred approach with a passion for delivering outstanding outcomes
Full UK Driving Licence
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day management and overall operation of a 2-bed children's residential home
Hold responsibility for ensuring the home remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and statutory requirements
Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child-focused environment
Lead, mentor and develop the staff team, promoting a positive and supportive culture
Oversee recruitment, supervision, performance management and staff development
Ensure effective safeguarding practices are embedded throughout the service
Manage budgets, rotas and the overall operational performance of the home
Develop and review care plans, risk assessments and placement plans to achieve positive outcomes
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and other professionals
Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections
Play a key role in shaping and developing the home's flexible service model during an exciting period of organisational growth
